Terms and Conditions

Health & Hygiene

As a mum myself I understand fully the importance of hygiene. Please be aware that as a former member of FACE (the face painting association) I have allways been bound to a strict code of conduct of professionalism, health & safety and hygiene.

Children must have permission to be painted and be accompanied by an adult.

Parents / carers are responsible for their children at all times.

I do not paint children less than three years old as the products I use are not recommended for children under three.

The face paints that I use have been designed for professional use and comply with all the EEC cosmetic regulations. As with any cosmetics some people may develop sensitivity to one of the ingredients. Some children are allergic to a wide range of common products. If you have any concerns about your child's reaction to face paints please discuss them with me before your child is painted. It is always possible to do a patch test or a motif on the hand to be on the safe side.

I will not paint a child who does not wish to be painted, I will only encourage.

For the safety of my customers I regret I will not paint anyone who, in my opinion  appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis, or any other infectious skin complaint or who has eczema or an open cut on their face .

I will not paint signs or symbols or other designs that are in any way racially or religiously offensive.

A new sponge is used for each child and all sponges are washed after each event.

All brushes are washed with specialist soap between events and the water used during each event is changed regularly.

Water-based make-up can be removed easily by washing with soap or baby shampoo and plenty of water - take care around the eyes as soap can sting! Some colours may temporarily stain slightly if the skin is dry - your usual baby lotion after washing may help to remove this.

Clothes that have been in contact with face paint should be soaked in cold water before washing normally.

For private parties it is the responsibility of the client / parent to inform parents of the children attending that face painting will be available. The client must then inform the face painter of any child who cannot be painted due to allergies or skin conditions.

If your event will take place outdoors shelter from sun / rain / wind will be required.

If your event is indoors a good level of light, preferably natural light will be required.
